Orthodontist

The career I want to pursue is an orthodontist. This job is very similar to a dentist. There are very few differences, but they are different. From my perspective being an orthodontist is the best choice.
Both an Orthodontist and a dentist work on teeth. A key difference is that orthodontist's deal with all sorts of irregularities and problems in the mouth and teeth. The most common thing people know orthodontist's for is applying braces. The word "ortho" means to straighten and "dons" means teeth, so an orthodontists job is to straighten teeth. Dentists only clean teeth and take care of cavities, but a lot of dentists just have their assistants do the cleaning now.
My mom has tried to push being a dentist on me, my brother, and my sister. My brother was quick to give it up, but my sister was sticking with that job until sometime around high school. When she told me to do it I was up for it. I have wanted to be a dentist since about fourth grade. Last year I realized that I would rather be an orthodontist. The only hard thing about being an orthodontist is the schooling that leads up to it. For the most part they just have their assistants check the patient out. Then the orthodontist confirms the assistants analysis, and they straighten their teeth. It' that simple.
I think that I should have no problem becoming an orhtodontist. It is something I want to do, and I have wanted to do it for a long time. I think I will enjoy doing it, and enjoy making over $200,000 a year.
